Paul Madeline

Paul Madeline (1863–1920) was a French Post-Impressionist landscape painter trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Introduced to the Creuse by Maurice Rollinat and Léon Detroy, he became one of the region’s best-known painters. His village views, rivers, gardens and Brittany scenes use rich colour, textured brushwork and lyrical light.
