Ernst Karl Georg Zimmermann

Ernst Karl Georg Zimmermann (1852–1901) was a German painter associated with the Munich School. He received his earliest training from his father, Reinhard Sebastian Zimmermann, and later studied under Wilhelm von Diez at the Munich Academy. He painted genre scenes, portraits, historical compositions and religious subjects, combining polished realism, precise drawing, carefully observed costumes and clear narrative detail.
