Biography

Albéric Collin

Albéric Collin (1886–1962) was a Belgian animalier sculptor trained at Antwerp’s Royal Academy. A friend of Rembrandt Bugatti and frequent visitor to Antwerp Zoo, he studied animals directly, translating elephants, lions, horses and domestic creatures into energetic bronze forms. His work combines anatomical precision with alert movement, especially in monumental zoo, bridge and public commissions in Belgium.
