Charles Johann Palmié

Charles Johann Palmié (1863–1911) was a German landscape and still-life painter linked to Neo-Impressionism and Munich modernism. Trained in Dresden and Munich, he painted luminous Alpine, river and village scenes with divided colour and shimmering atmosphere. In 1909 he co-founded the Neue Künstlervereinigung München with Kandinsky, Jawlensky and Münter, helping prepare the ground for Der Blaue Reiter.
