Margaret F. Foley

Margaret Foley (1827–1877) was an American sculptor and cameo carver, active for a big part of her career in Rome. Born in Vermont, she became part of the expatriate artistic community and was admired for her finely carved marble busts and small-scale works. Her neoclassical style, delicate craftsmanship, and sensitivity to character made her one of the notable American women sculptors of the 19th century.
