Description: Desvergnes was a student of Chapu and Jouffroy. He made his debut at the 1880 Salon, at the age of just 20, with a terracotta portrait. He won the Prix de Rome in 1889 and again confirmed his talent at the Salons of 1892 and 1895. He received special recognition at the Exposition Universelle in 1900, where he was awarded the Medal of Honor.
