Pierre Pioniez began his career as a privileged craftsman in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine around 1758, became a master craftsman in 1765, and subsequently moved to a workshop on Rue Michel le Comte in the Marais, where he remained until the end of his life. He died in 1790.
