Pierre Pioniez began his career as a privileged craftsman in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine around 1758, became a master craftsman in 1765, and subsequently moved to a workshop on Rue Michel le Comte in the Marais, where he remained until the end of his life. He died in 1790.

Pierre Pioniez
Pierre Pioniez (d.1790) was a Parisian ébéniste, received as master in 1765. After working as an ouvrier libre in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, he established himself in the Marais on rue Michel-Lecomte. His stamp appears especially on small luxury furniture, including architect’s tables and bonheur-du-jour desks, marked by refined marquetry, mahogany and gilt-bronze detail.
