Edgar Brandt
Edgar Brandt (1880–1960) was a French decorative ironworker and designer, widely regarded as one of the leading figures of Art Deco metalwork. He became famous for his highly refined wrought-iron creations, including gates, screens, lamps, and architectural metal elements. Brandt combined traditional blacksmithing techniques with modern geometric design, producing works that were both functional and sculptural. His ironwork can be seen in major buildings and luxury interiors across Europe and the United States, and he played a key role in defining the elegance and luxury aesthetics of the Art Deco movement.
