Raymond de Meester de B.
Raymond de Meester de Betzenbroeck (1904–1995) was a Belgian animalier sculptor admired for bronze animals that feel both anatomically exact and alive. Between 1925 and 1931, he studied daily at Antwerp Zoo, developing close observation of felines, birds, horses and wild mammals. His leopards, bears, ostriches and foals combine smooth modelling, alert posture and restrained movement, turning naturalistic study into elegant modern sculpture.
