Diller studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He worked not only as a portraitist and landscape painter, but above all as an animal painter. Some of his works were selected for the IWAF (International Fund for Animal Welfare) and he was repeatedly commissioned as an illustrator for book projects and numerous identification guides. Diller also worked in sculpture. He was a woodcarver and numerous animal bronzes were cast based on his designs. His works were shown in several exhibitions both in Germany and abroad. Occasionally, he also created works for public spaces.
