August Lohr
August Lohr, or Löhr (1842–1920), was an Austrian-born landscape and panorama painter active in Munich, the United States and Mexico. Trained at the Munich Academy under Carl von Piloty, he worked on large battle panoramas before joining the American Panorama Company in Milwaukee. His landscapes and cycloramas combine theatrical scale, atmospheric drama and detailed natural observation.
