Richard Fuchs

Richard Fuchs
Richard Fuchs (1852–1916) was a German Orientalist painter who studied at the Berlin Academy of Arts. He travelled through North Africa and Italy, where he found subjects for paintings of markets, desert landscapes, palace entrances, Arab encampments and river views. His work was characterised by warm colour, strong light and a detailed interpretation of Mediterranean and North African architecture and daily life.
