Measurement: 47 cm high
The ormolu mounts with original firegilding possibly by Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1751–1843), the most prominent French “bronzier”,
producer of ornamental patinated gilt-bronze objects and furniture mounts of the first Empire.
An Etruscan-shaped vase with a facet-cut body surmounted by an entrelac-cast beaded rim and a small cylindrical neck displaying bands of horizontal cutting.
Original fire-gilt ormolu mounts, featuring a collar cast with egg-and-dart rim, the flanking handles issuing from round medallions centred with laughing putti and
terminating in bacchic masks. The whole standing on a square base, decorated with acanthus leaves.
