Biography

Lamberto Cristiano Gori

Lamberto Cristiano Gori (1730–1801) was an Italian artist born in Livorno and active mainly in Tuscany. Trained by Enrico Hugford at Vallombrosa, he became a notable master of Florentine scagliola, using coloured plaster to imitate marble, pietra dura and painting. His panels, portraits and copies after Renaissance masters transformed a decorative technique into refined, collectible pictorial art for elite interiors.
