Biography

Charles Paillet

Charles Paillet (1871–1937) was a French animalier sculptor from Nièvre, trained under Georges Gardet. Exhibiting at the Paris Salon from 1897 to 1921, he modelled monkeys, birds, dogs, cats and fighting cocks with lively naturalism. Cast by Thiébaut Frères and Barbedienne, his bronzes continue the French animalier tradition before Art Deco simplification.
