Johann Ludwig Giesel

Johann Ludwig Giesel, also recorded as Gysel or Geisel (1747–1814), was a Dresden-born German painter and fresco artist. Rather than a medallist, he is best documented through landscape and decorative painting. His work belongs to the late eighteenth-century Saxon tradition, combining architectural settings, scenery and carefully composed natural views with the disciplined craftsmanship of courtly decorative art.
