Pierre Defriche

Pierre Defriche was a Parisian master ébéniste, admitted to the guild in 1766. Based on rue Sainte-Marguerite, he created furniture in the Louis XV, Transition and Louis XVI styles. He used carefully selected veneers, gilt-bronze mounts and balanced proportions. His surviving stamped commodes, bookcases and other furnishings reveal a skilled workshop serving wealthy clients and refined eighteenth-century interiors.
