Biography

Franz Quaglio

Franz Quaglio (1844–1920) was a German painter from the Munich Quaglio artist family. Trained first by his father Simon and later at the Munich Academy under Franz Adam, he specialised in rural genre scenes, soldiers, fairs and travelling performers. His small, narrative paintings combine lively character, costume detail and nineteenth-century Munich storytelling realism.
