Biography

Otto Jarl

Otto Jarl (1856–1915) was a Swedish-born sculptor who built his career in Vienna. After training in Stockholm and at the Vienna Academy, he moved from portrait sculpture toward animal subjects. His bronze lions, goats, dogs and wild animals combine anatomical truth, alert posture and refined surface treatment, placing him within the elegant Viennese animalier tradition.
