Biography

Helmut Diller

Helmut Diller (1911–1984) was a German animal sculptor, painter and medallist, born in Stuttgart to sculptor Fritz Diller and trained at the Munich Academy. Best known for bronze animals, woodcarvings and porcelain models for Hutschenreuther and Rosenthal, he captured anatomy, poise and species character with disciplined naturalism. His wildlife subjects also reached wider audiences through World Wildlife Fund fundraising editions.
