Salomon Corrodi

Salomon Corrodi (1810–1892) was a Swiss-born painter of refined Italian views, best known for luminous watercolours. Trained with Johann Jakob Wetzel, he settled in Rome in the 1830s and moved within Grand Tour circles. His panoramas of Capri, Tivoli, Rome and coastal Italy combine clear drawing, delicate atmosphere, bright distance and collectible topographical elegance for travelling patrons.
