Her hair decorated with floral garlands, she faces right, on a downward-spreading pedestal, signed and dated on the reverse.
Gelindo Monzini exhibited in Naples, Turin, Milan, and Rome. He participated in the 1868 exhibitions of the Patroness of Fine Arts in Turin. In 1880, he presented the marble bust "L'orfanella" (The Orphan Girl) and in 1884 the statue "La compiacenza" (Complacency). In 1877, he exhibited "La farfalla" (The Butterfly), "Il primo dolore" (First Pain), "Un misero guadagno" (A Meager Gain), "La primavera" (Spring), and "La meditatione" (Contemplation) in Naples. In Milan, he presented "Le vittime dell'innocenza" (The Victims of Innocence) in 1881, and in 1883 "Pensierosa" (The Thoughtful One), "La gioia" (Joy), and "La modestia" (Modesty); in the same year, he presented "La flora" (The World of Plants) in Rome.
Among Monzini's various works are also listed: "Il pensiero" (Thought), "Baccante" (The Bacchante), "Fanciulletto" (The Child), "La dea fiori" (The Goddess of Flowers), and "Ninfa" (Nymph).
Monzini also created medallions, busts, portraits, and funerary monuments. A marble bust of Monzini is in the Sydney Museum, Australia.
