Description: Attributed to Louis-Auguste Hervieu (1765–1811)
Patinated bronze

In 1779, L. A. Hervieu took over the workshop of his father, who had been a renowned bronzer and designer and had collaborated with the most important artists of his time – P. Caffieri, J. F. Oeben, E. J. Gallien, and L. F. Gobert.
L. A. Hervieu produced numerous candelabra and bronzes with highly distinctive designs, which he sold to the imperial court (e.g., for the Grand Trianon) through "marchand-merciers.
