Tortoiseshell, gilt bronze, ebony, semiprecious stones

Hinged lid, lined with red damask,
small sliding compartment above.

Various stone and bronze decorations in the shape of fruit and foliage. Bronze feet in the shape of mermaids,

one mermaid stamped: "MA"

Two small leaves and a semiprecious stone are missing,
one bronze figure and a branch are later.
