Giacomo Raffaelli

Giacomo Raffaelli
Giacomo Raffaelli (1753–1836) was a Roman mosaicist and one of the great masters of micromosaic. Trained in painting, sculpture and hardstone work, he transformed tiny glass tesserae into refined images, plaques and luxury objects for Grand Tour patrons. His celebrated mosaic after Leonardo’s Last Supper reflects his technical brilliance and neoclassical Roman prestige.
