A slightly cloudy sky allows the bright rays of the sun to shine through on this river landscape by Chigot, bathing the scene in warm light. The rural scenery makes all the hustle and bustle of the big city and everyday life disappear. Even the figures depicted seem to be merely observing the activity on the river, where a small boat is slowly sailing along. Through his choice of colours and motifs, Chigot has created a work that not only reflects the slower pace of rural life, but also seems to show the peaceful harmony between humans and nature.&nbsp;<br />
