Biography

Harry Christlieb

Hermann Harry Christlieb (1886–1967) was a German-American artist, born in Cincinnati and later active in Amberg. Because surviving documentation is limited, his work is best approached through its market-recorded objects, with carefully modelled sculpture and traditional figurative compositions that reflect early twentieth-century Central European academic taste, valuing structure, realism and quiet craftsmanship over avant-garde experimentation.
