Description: A pink apple tree in bloom on the shore of a lake stands at the centre of this work by Chigot, which captures the freshness and vitality of late spring in a colourful way. The flora glows in rich shades of green and the shimmering blue surface of the water reflects the surroundings of the shore in small movements. The painter has succeeded in creating a balanced composition full of impressionistic atmosphere that transports the viewer into an idyllic world.
